I grew up in UP and have lived down the street from Snider Plaza (SP) for 40 years now... my entire life. My family and I frequent SP pretty much daily. Here are my thoughts on this proposed project: 1) It's inevitable that SP is going to have new development, but why not require new buildings to be architecturally homogenous to the area or have architectural elements that are cohesive to SP? 2) SP needs less tinted glass, i.e. top floor of design 2 & New building across street. 3) More trees!
I feel that the requested variance requested by the developer to lessen the required parking spaces for this development will add to the increasing number of cars that Snider Plaza currently has to deal with. Plan your space accordingly and provide adequate parking for tenants and guests. We all hope Snider Plaza thrives, but parking is making it more and more inconvenient. Thank you for your time.

I moved here 10 years ago and tried to shop at Snider and found myself driving in a circle looking for a spot to park. I have never tried again and find it easier to drive across 75 to shop. I live .5 miles from Snider. Last week my fiancé and I rode our One Wheels over there and we visited to the yogurt shop. I would love to see them increase parking and not add to the already lack of parking. Perhaps if parking was easier then the stores would have more business.
